Poetry: An Exploration

Dear Grade Fives!
Today, in your Blog response, I would like you to write a complete paragraph about our new unit, Poetry: An Exploration. I would like to hear about what you think will be most challenging about completing this assignment. I would also like to hear about how you plan to tackle the challenge.
Once again, I am expecting a well-crafted paragraph. Please reread the reminder about paragraph structure. In addition, please use the checklist very carefully prior to posting your response. It is intended to make it easier for you to complete a writing assignment successfully. Take advantage of it.
As usual, I look forward to reading your responses.

When Sophie Gets Angry-Really, Really Angry

Hello Grade Fives and Welcome Mrs. Gammon’s grade 4 and 5 class!

This week, our class presented the story When Sophie Gets Angry-Really, Really Angry!

We discussed how it is normal to get really mad sometimes but that we need to be able to handle our anger without hurting someone or ourselves.
Today, in a well-crafted paragraph, we would like you to answer the following question: How do you handle your anger when something or someone makes you very, very angry?
Mrs. French’s class, as usual, is asked to use the checklist, prior to posting. Mrs. Gammon’s class, you are welcome to use it as well.
I look forward to reading your responses. (Please see ‘Posting Your Response”)
Sincerely, Mrs. French

Canada's Arctic

Dear Grade Fives!

Today you will explore the arctic and then view a video clip, from 1949, on building an igloo.
First, please explore the following pictures of our Canadian Arctic (here). I would like you to spend several minutes looking carefully at the pictures. This is one of Canada’s major landscapes. Click on individual pictures to see them in more detail.
Second, watch the following video clip on building an igloo.
Enjoy!
