Last week you discussed renewable resources, specifically the salmon. On Friday, we go to Stellako to see the salmon spawn. In preparation, I would like you to view the following video: Life Cycle of Salmon and then listen to the Salmon Life Cycle Song.
I would then like you to write a short paragraph describing the salmon life cycle. Ensure that all sentences begin with a capital and end with a period. Please use your best guess spelling for unknown words.

ReplyDeleteThe song was good!!.The life style was really cool when I saw it.When I watched the video it was really cool how they did all those things.In the song when the bear was catching the fish in his mouth was pretty neat.The best thing of all was that they start in oceans and than lakes than streams than back wear they were born
ReplyDeleteI have learnd that a Salmon fishing law has been set that thay cant cach lots at a time wich is good. And and that they come back to the river they where born in to lay there eggs. And their is about 30000 of them!Also the song was Awesome!!!!!!!

They jump up waterfalls just to get to the stream that they were born in. Salmon go through being fingerlings fry's ,and then they spawn then it starts all over again!I knew most of it but it was pretty intresting.

I learned how salmon spawn they go throu the ocean and up the steams to where they were born.
Then they lay there eggs then they cover them with clean gravol and protect them until they die.

ReplyDeleteFirst the salmon mothors lay their eggs .Then the eggs hatch and then the Alevin.when they are fry they are big enough to wim.Next they turn into smolts after parr.Then they turn into Adults as in salmon.
First the mother salmon lays its eggs. The eggs turn into Alvevin. When they get big enough they turn into fry. After one more stage they go into smolt. Once they are smolt they try to stay away from preditors. After this they turn into adult salmon. Then they will go and spawn and their cycle starts all over again.

Then they hatch they are called a alevin they still have the egg on there back. The next stage is called a smolt. Then they're called parr. The last stage is a adult salmon. Then it happens all over again.

Then the mother dies.when they are a mew born they have a yolk sack.The yolk sack gives the new born salmon nutriance.Soon after the fry mature into salmon.they have a migration route that all salmon use.

The salmon is a incredible creature.Here are some facts about its life cycle.The salmon first start out as an egg.From there they go on to become an eye egg hence the small dot in the centre.From there they become a fry,to a parr,a smolt then a adult.After that they spawn and die.So that's the life cycle of a salmon

First the adults swim upstreem and even up water falls.Then finaly once they find thier spot they will spawn thier eggs.Thier eggs will be Eyed eggs.Then turn into elevens,then fry,parr,smolt then finaly adults.

When she is done the male firtlises the eggs. Weeks later the eggs hatch in to fry. The fry have yoke sacs that they feed on. Soon they travle down stream and then in to the ocean. When they enter the ocean they become jacks then adaults. Soon they half to go back to the stream they were born in and that is my speech

ReplyDeleteThe life cycle of a salmon is very complicated.first they are a egg and then they turn into a alvin then they depend on the yolk sack for nourishment until they turn into a frie which after,they turn into a parr and they make there way back to the ocean and they turn into a adult then they stay in the ocean for a while and then when its time they start making there way back to the ocean and there they spawn andcover their eggs with clean gravel and then they die sadly :( But then the life cycle starts again
Did you know thay there are many different types of salmon:stealhead,soceye and many others.Salmon lay 3,000 eggs when the eggs hatch they become embryo, frys, fingerlings, smolts and when they become adult salmon they swim back to the stream thay were born in and thay lay thier eggs
